This poolside patch above was horrible.I realised that for poolside safety I would have to expose the uneven bricks so that it's not a hidden trap. The plant with the pointed pricking leaves was a hazard to people in their skins, so that had to go as well. I planted lavenders to compliment the opposite garden and to enhance the fragrance of lavenders around the pool. There are two more larger gardens around the house I haven't tackled yet, but I have plans for this coming winter, mostly cutting back and removing overgrown ferns and making space for more indiginious plants, like tecomaria capensis (cape honeysuckle), for my bird friends. |
